Using excerpts from the original French translation, this type-based design is made up of four chapters that follow the character arcs (and tragic deaths) of Les Amis d'ABC from Victor Hugo's Les Misérables. Handwritten elements from Hugo's original manuscript serve to highlight important passages and incorporate type as texture throughout. A grid system is utilized and then broken as the plot rises and falls. This limited edition, 60 paged publication comes with a dual-sided bookmark.
